Activities: Hiking and Walking in the Algarve
The Algarve offers a tremendous
choice of walks from the beaches and coastal
cliff tops to further inland and the rolling
hillsides. Most of our Algarve Walking Holidays
include a variety of historical features and
points of interest. We have researched dozens
of walks in the Algarve so we know the best
places to take you and can also match the
level of difficulty to your fitness levels
and preferences. We can make your walk a nice
relaxing stroll or we can provide you with
a real challenge!
Walks
Our locally based guides will offer you a
choice of walks from an easy 5 or 6 km right
up to a more challenging 20km (or more) Hikes.
If you are really keen, you can do a couple
of the shorter walks each day which should
allow just enough time to stop at a local
café or restaurant for a lunch break.

What to Bring
The main ingredient for a successful walking holiday is a good pair
of walking boots. Ideally these should be bought well in advance of
your holiday and be given a chance to get well worn in, so that you
minimise the chances of experiencing any discomfort whilst walking on
holiday. As the weather can be very hot depending upon the time of year,
it is advisable to carry a day sack so that you can carry your own water
supply for the walk. In the winter months, although the temperature
rarely drops below 10C, it is advisable to bring along some warm clothing
and rain gear.
You would be unlucky to experience a prolonged spell of rain, but just
in case you do get some rain, its best to bring along some waterproofs
as well. When it does rain here, it is usually very heavy!
